Common questions

Do I need an account to use Lexena?+ ouvrir
No. Lexena works entirely without an account. Sign-up is only needed if you want to sync your notes across multiple devices, and it happens in-app.
Are my audios sent to third-party servers?+ ouvrir
In local mode, never. In Lexena Cloud mode, audio is processed by our infrastructure and erased immediately after transcription. We do not store any audio server-side.
What about the old OpenAI / Groq / Deepgram API keys?+ ouvrir
BYO API keys are being phased out for the public v3.0 release, replaced by Lexena Cloud. Users on previous versions will be guided through the migration.
Is the code open source?+ ouvrir
Yes, MIT licensed. The desktop app source is fully public on GitHub. Lexena Cloud is a paid hosted service, separate.
When is the public release?+ ouvrir
Lexena is in public beta. The v3.0 public launch is gated on Lexena Cloud and notes sync going to production.
